Creating a Wonderland
Her story started with being born to a father that would believe she’s his wife. Her purity was diluted at a young age; she never seen the possibility of Heaven because she was birthed in Hell. Her voice became trapped in her body; being casted as shy, she was shunned. One day a discovery was made in the form of a pen and paper; it helped her escape. Those tools will be used to build a world where she is a princess, father a king that protects not preys on her, and mother a queen that educates her to be a true queen herself. She constructed a fantasy, while living a nightmare. The more her father abused her and her mother stood still, the more she created this elaborate land of character that balanced her existence. She wrote and wrote, meaning, he abused and abused. She wrote so much that her reality started to become the fantasy, and the fantasy a reality. She would tell people she was royalty and couldn’t wait until she can return to her castle and sit on the throne next to her mother and father. She said that she couldn’t wait to share her story of a sad little girl that was being abused by her father, while her mother watched. Her teacher enjoyed her imagination and praised her parents for raising her in an environment that allowed her to be so expressive. The teacher stated “I wish I had more parents that took care of their child like that”; she added, “I would like to read her writings someday”. The parents had no clue as to what she was talking about, but said thanks for the kind words and took their child home. The next day the girl would bring in her stories for the teacher to read. The teacher noticed that her stories were about a kingdom and realized the abuse was her life. The teacher would notify the attorneys and the girl would be fostered by a true king and queen! Who would have thought her fantasy would truly become her reality!!!!

This one hits home… I believe everyone everywhere has a gift that is supposed to help them through whatever obstacles or trauma comes through their way. It is sad that so many people never find or develop their talents, or learn to depend on it to help them cope with life. We all have the ability to create a magical wonderland.
Your right everyone possesses a gift but sadly not everyone owns it. I love that you use your struggle to assure that they don’t have too. You allow them to not only see that they can survive but they have an outlet to get help from people that can relate. Let’s continue to fight to make our wonderland a reality. “Peace before falling to pieces”!!!!
Deep! Thanks for writing this.
